A few on here running subaru lumps so... Should my immobiliser ligh go out whilst cranking? Its a non starter atm. Key is mounted in subaru ignition barrel with amplifier ring as intended - should it be earthed though?
Cheers for any input

Not to worry! Sorted by puting the chip in the original key. Not sure how that works as its only the blade and plastic housing?

Immobiliser light goes out but still no fuel or spark is this related to immobiliser? got fuel pressure at the rails but no pulse signal at the injectors whilst cranking. No spark from the coil pack either which seems like a imm fault to me?

What do you scuby guys do with the gearbox ? Are they strong enough or do they need a bit of TLC ? Do you use the scuba gear kit. What is the favoured engine ej20? Normal aspirated or turbo ? Or something else..

I can report back about the gearbox on a ej20 once I get it running As far as I know the standard box is fine on the ej20-25 n/a

No probs with du code with my ej2.0 I have put 15 merc Steele on to reduce gearing although really more suited to long runs to get benifit may even save them for longer trips and put the 14ins back on for day to day stuff👍

Double checked my spark with plug earthed on manifold and i do have a weak spark, diagnostics showed injector pulse. Timing marks tally up and although i havent done a compression test (cant get my gauge between heads and chassis rails) feels like theres good compression and vacume on the inlet. All grounds are well grounded. Trigger lugs look good.

Brake servo connected, pulled the line and plugged it to prove no leaks elsewhere in the line. Not sure on the vss, new from rjes.Would that cause (guessing 3.5k) on start? Read the idle valve may need re calibrating/ learning? Ive only got a basic code reader - i can get hold of matey with the diagnostics after xmas. He said my tps was working but no mention of iacv. No codes coming up
Cheers

600 rpm once warm. temp Needle sits higher than the vw lump, the resistor should bring it back into scale apparantly. Do you lads recomend an additional guage?
