yeh spent this afternoon cleaning earth terminals. The switch is a brand new unit as I felt sure this was bound to be the problem. My dash is out and am tracing back cables now... joy😂 I may be way out here and I am definately no expert in auto electrics but for some reason I think or dreamt a I read a similar problem which someone traced back and found the IGNITION SWITCH to be causing some faults with the wipers??? Anybody heard of this??

The T3's are fitted with a x-relief relay, production code 18, it cut the power to some components when you start the vehicle, work from the ignition. Thus possible the ignition or this relay can give your wiper problems. The lights also cut when you start but it does not work through the x-relief relay. Components I know work through the x-relief are, Front wipers, Rear wipers, Fresh air blower, Rear heated window. If you have problems with them too, it is most likely the relay.

Power supply to the whole wiper system (Washer, intermediate and permanent wipers) is supply through this relay to the wiper fuse (My bus (SA 2.6I) it is number 5)

Here's a wiring diagram. It's in Dutch, but maybe it will help you. On page 13 of 14 you will find the wipers.
