I have just got a 1982 joker 1.6 diesel. It has an eberspacher night heater under the rock n roll bed and a control unit mounted on the side. A dial goes up to 7 and there is a switch for hot and cold etc. I have no idea what model this is. I have trawled through this forum for info.

Anyway the daft question is this.

What powers it? Is it the diesel or is it electric? It says something in German and there is a 220v sign.

I can't get it to work. As in, the green light illuminates and there is power going to the unit but nothing happens. The blower is not working.

I'm a bit thick so any help is much appreciated. Cheers

The ebers are usually under the van. Are you looking at the battery charger?

Ha ha, I probably am yeah.

There is an lpg tank under the nearside and the eber controller is on the offside. The thing I'm looking at is on the offside of the van under the bed directly behind the vent which is presumably where the heat comes through? The leisure battery is behind drivers seat but I have no idea how these charge up? Is it while driving off the main battery? I've had Caravelles for ten years. This is my first camoer

Yup sounds like the mains battery charger.
Iirc the eber will be on the near side towards the rear. Look for an extra exhaust pipe of small diameter exiting the sill area

Leisure charges off split charging when running and off the mains charger on hook up

Cheers Jason thanks a lot. Do I flip the switch on the charger to the right? Or does it automatically charge? Also is there a common issue to look for with the ebers? Thanks again

Mine was automatic, just leave it switched on as it'll only work when plugged in.
Ebers, there's all sorts of issues with them. Does the fan run? Can you hear the pump click?

Discovered why it's not working today...

The empty bracket under the van and the pipe that's coiled up and tied...

It's been removed!

As you were....
