Just bought a voltage sensing relay and wondering if it's OK to use the red and black earth wire in the battery box that goes back to the dash ? (Already being used as relay earth)

Confused !!!! Red & Black earth wires? be careful as one would have been the 'trigger' wire (to switch the relay once the engine was started) the other is an earth. The 140 amp Durite SMART relay just needs an earth (a 600mm wire is already attached to the relay so this just needs taking to the battery negative earth point on the vans body) and then use good thick cable to the eyelet poles on the relay and to both the positive battery terminals (leisure & starter batteries). It is also advisable to fit a fuse close to the starter battery (40 amp should be OK) Martin
