Hi -- last year we imported a LHD T4 multivan from Germany and installed a set of RHD Angel Eyes, now we're being told the beam pattern is actually still for LHD. The manufacturers are saying the headlights are fine although the vans headlight motors are still LHD, the garage is saying that has no effect on the dipped beam only full beam.
Does anybody have any experience of this!? Thanks for any help! Ben |

Full beam pattern is not tested...what is the actual wording on the fail?

Does the Lo beam have a kick up on the right side of the beam ? If so then regardless of what the manufacturer is telling you the ones you have are designed and made for LHD. Of course it is possible they have accidentally mixed up LHD and RHD units.

Thanks for the replies, the beam does have the kickup on the right side. We took the van in for testing and the guy showed me the beam pattern. He's now put on some beam adjusters although assume this is going to make them even less effective!

Even if you can reduce/eliminate the kick up on the right, you won't have the kick up on the left that RHD lights should have. This illuminates objects to the left of the road.
I'd be leaning heavily on the manufacturer to either supply some headlights that ARE designed for RHD (and therefore will pass testing and provide proper illumination), or give you a full refund of all your costs, including testing etc to compensate for the inconvenience and expense their incorrect lights have caused you. I did read that FK Angel Eyes have only been available for long nose T4s a few years, as you suggest possibly we were sold one of the old versions. Even thought they were advertised as RHD!
It least I know its not a motor driven adjustment so will get back to them, thanks everyone. |
