Hi,
I have old 1.6D CS engine. It's easy, low consuming but slow in hills.
Because I'll send my gearbox to refurbishing I will need to open my 13th chamber and do something with gearbox/engine. That's something I used to let do professionals in car service. So I was thinking that is the time to upgrade engine too. I was looking for refurbished 1.6TD or 1.9TD engines. And  I almost bought one , but i was overbid. So I did some research :) I've found many articles about swapping engines. But nothing about 'CS to JX' conversion. I confess - maybe I wasn't looking well for it.

So I just wanted to know is it possible to 'convert' CS to JX engine just with putting some TD kit on ? Or there are more things to change ? (head, ....) I've read somewhere that it's possible (nothing is impossible) but I'm interested in what everything I'll need.

If you have saved some links to discussions about this, please send me them.

If you have personal experience and have time to share, please share :)

Or best is buy JX and give up conversion from CS ?

Thank you a lot :)

agree with Elvis. Means you won`t have to source all the JX stuff, and you end up with non turbo simplicity/reliability.

Same as above.
No modifications just swap the manifolds and sump.
The hardest parts is swapping the throttle lever over.
If you mark it properly shouldn't be a problem though.

Guys thank you for your opinions. I've found 1.6D to 1.9D swap tutorial here and I'll do it as soon as spring will come :)
