Hi All,

i have come to a bit of a dead end on trying to source a new badge of all things! Its the '31' part for a 1995 that is found above the grille - it is shown as part number 281853687Q using vagcat. All roads lead to obsolete and even specialists seem to be struggling. New or used something to fill the gap would be nice!

Hi Andy

There's an LT 31 badge coming up as 281853687K and VW Heritage show that it's available from them for £23.05.

It's for a 4x4 but I don't know what the difference is!

Here

Just found this pic and the 4x4 version doesn't look too different, except that it's an LT 40 badge on this one!

Hope this helps

Serge

Later ones have a sloping typeface, but they seem to be the same across the range.

Unfortuneately the VW Heritage one isn't the bit i need - i mailed them and the 281853687Q variation wasn't available. I can locate the earlier ones where the LT31 is all one piece but on the later models it is split across 2 trim pieces...
Oemvwshop have 281853687QBBJ showing as available but i'm not sure what the BBJ bit stands for, let alone their basic $40euro basic shipping!!
Thanks so far...

I had the same problem. All be it a couple of years ago. I ended up buying it second hand from a guy in Poland of all places. A bit of filler and silver spray and you would never know the difference ;)

I'm guessing it's a problem from the old beasty boys (is that the correct spelling?) Vw thing. Showing my age there :)

Who would have thought a '31' badge would be harder to come by than the stuff actually needed to keep your van running... The quest continues..
Thanks for your input so far.

I had been thinking about this for a while. Why not find someone with a 3D printer and make some up? Can't be that hard to do and lots of parts could be made that way.Smile
