Well I've got myself an LT 28 1984 autostrada the owner is such a nice fella .i pick her up on Wednesday.then the work will be over the next year.

Have to get bikes now to get full use from the ould girl.but it will have to wait till I can afford them .Santa is a nice guy or so they tell me .

Are these any good the autostrada ones .

Don't know much about the brand .

When I was scratting about trying to find some information on them I found very little indeed.

That will give you something else to do over the next year.Wink

Autostrada conversions were carried out by a company named Bariban. They had converted the luxury Mercedes L206D in the early/mid 70s & then they turned their attention to the VW LT. The LT was launched in 1976 & Bariban started to convert it from 1977 & it retailed at £6,634. It was a luxury conversion but was considered expensive & only sold in limited numbers.
 
Presumably Bariban went on to convert the T3 into a camper. Looks like Bariban could be/have been a German company but no real evidence as yet to support that theory.
 
 
P.S. Bariban must have been a German company as they specialised in luxury conversions of Mercedes & Hanomag vehicles. It appears that there are lots of Mercedes/Bariban camper enthusiasts on the internet. 

I keep an eye out for the shape, in fact I am sure there is one, sadly, being broken on the bay.
