They are cool looking but. Really suit the van.

but i have a set of steels

contemplating whether i should swap the winter tyres onto these, or just hoard em.
I recon they'll end up on the Bluestar for winter...

they do suit the Aswan Brown van too

A little more information gleaned today...

They were sold by Atiwe, so not an actual Volkswagen option. Not very popular at the time due I guess to the cost - they're listed in a Dehler catalogue at something around 2400 DM mark... approx £1000 back then

They have a unique approval number for the T3 which I guess is why they have clearance on the rear for the rear drum bolts... wouldnt have gained approval if you had to leave the bolts out

I've decided i'm going to wax them to withing an inch of their life, and put my winter tyres on them. Will see how i feel about keeping them after winter

16" Atiwe's .....
now those are even more rare...

the cool thing about those is they came in other widths think they did a 9j x 16  wheel.

are your pepper pots 7x15 et 24  Tee3 ?  (edit....ha checked first page again... why did i ask..LOL)

thats also a spot on size for some of the old merc sl v8's  as thats one of the standard steel wheel sizes.

i like the fact that they are a nice simple design,  bit more than a steel rim........ but not to fussy and hard to clean like some alloys..

WHY T3's.... because they are just so adictive, and having one just aint enough

I think theyre actually ET23.

To be honest, ive seen more sets of the 16" Keyhole style over the years than the 15" "Cheesehole".
Certainly seen more for sale. I know of quite a few sets in the UK either on vehicles, or in peoples secret stash, dont know of many 15" cheeseholes... in fact, this is the only set ive ever seen in 5x112

No idea which is rarer, the 16s seem more sought after which may explain why i know of more. They are a cool rim, im temped to have the lips polished though
