Strictly not VW I realise...but this is the project which has had to go to make way for the T3 which I hadn't been planning to materialise on my driveway...but once I'd seen it I couldn't say no.

The post below is copied from the for sale section at the Lada forums where I also spend entirely too much time!

Don't think this breaks any rules...if I'm wrong...my bad and I apologise.

Figured it was worth a post here as well, as I'm sure we've a fair number of people here who can appreciate a bit of an oddball modern classic as well as their VWs.

>> Insert post I put up on the Lada forums on Saturday here...

Thought this was going to be going on to a new home in a couple of weeks - however that has fallen through due to some unexpected circumstances on the part of the buyer.

I've recently come across another project which I hadn't planned on, and it's not something I'll likely get another shot at for a long while - so the Lada really needs to go. I simply don't have the space for two cars.

Plus my parents who kindly let me keep whatever the current project is on their drive tend to start getting militant when there are two cars there!

I'd also been expecting the cash from the sale of this - so am a bit stuck now, especially with the Cappuccino's MOT coming up next month.

Think pictures an paint a thousand words - so photos linked to below.

Car has been out of regular use since two years ago, however I've been ensuring that it's been started and moved around the drive regularly.

25K on the clock, good 'box, engine pulls well and doesn't use any oil or water - though the carb (as with most of them of this age I think) could do with a service. Particularly the automatic choke which has a bit of a mind of its own when cold.

Needs welding on both of the sills and could do with a new set of wings - otherwise cosmetically the bodywork is pretty good - even though it would benefit from a good polish by now.

Brakes obviously could do with an overhaul having not been on the road for a while - though just a bit of use may see them sort themselves out.

Exhaust will need to be replaced for the MOT (note that this seems to have the front and middle sections off an estate on it when ordering!).

Most recent development (as of yesterday) is that the switch for the cooling fan has decided that it needs to be on all the time. That's the only thing which doesn't work though.

Two new Sava brand tyres were fitted about 50 miles ago, and look to be in good order despite having been on there for a year. Fronts are in good condition with plenty of tread too.

Aside from one door card (offside rear) which has warped thanks to the plastic backing falling off inside the door, the interior's in between very good and immaculate - a few cobwebs aside!

I've been offered £120-150 locally for scrap by a couple of dealers in the last couple of weeks - while I realise I won't get quite that much for it given the costs of shifting a car - I'd like to get something around the £100 figure though to be honest.  Aim there being to cover the costs of getting the camper van delivered - though at this point in time, I'm not going to be too picky!  I need the car moved.

If I don't get any takers in the next 3-4 weeks, I'll have no option but to have it taken away for scrap, which would be a crying shame - there's no fixed deadline though! If someone's interested I'll hold on to the car obviously.

As far as actually moving it is concerned, I used Aberdeen Vehicle Transport to deliver my camper van from Aberdeen. Very good service, seemed experienced, and equally importantly - quoted a price that was nearly half most of the competitors. I'll definitely be using them again in future.  No connection with them though, other than as a satisfied customer.

Their website is here.

Vehicle is located just outside Rothienorman in Aberdeenshire.

At this stage - I need the car moved - if you think I'm being cheeky asking that much, just tell me so!

Current fleet: 1980 VW T3 1.6 CT Camper Van. 1994 Suzuki Cappuccino. 2009 Peugeot 107 Verve.
