Has anyone tried to paint or anodise the sliding side windows from silver to black?

I want to change the window rubbers to the std back version and get rid of the chrome trim, but feel that the silver window will look out of place so it needs to change.

Once out will the window dismantle?  any one got a guide?

Cheers

John

Did mine no probs, sliding glass bit lifts out easily enough, but I`d just mask off the whole glass areas and then paint. I used Plasticote Super Satin black, available from B&Q, no primer needed, just key the alloy frame with some Scotchbrite or similar.
