I'm having a trail fit of my rear wheels tonight

When I bought them they came with all sorts of spacers and longer studs

the wheel are 8inch width and have an ET of 33, I'm told that these will fit fine on the back without spacers, or i can fit spacers if I want.

If I go down the route of no spacers will I still require the longer studs?

Reading the info on fitting longers studs it seems pretty difficult. Is this true? How long should I allow to complete this job if it is needed?

Thanks in advance

depends on the wheels...

ive fited some wheels that you can get a full 7 / 8 turns of the nut and thats fine but i would be worried about bouting on wheels with only 4 / 5 turns.
if the wheels are a taper bolt type then you have more of a chance.

orignal carat/caravelle wheels are fitted with standard studs but different nuts.

Other things to consider.

Standard steel wheels are designed obviously for their application, so you will notice that between the bolt holes on the wheels there are some raised areas, these are for clearance for the small bolts that locate the rear brake drum. When fitting alloy wheels these locating bolts interfere with the new wheel and cause it not to seat correctly. The M7 bolts in question, with 11mm heads can safely be removed and left out as the brake drum centers itself on the hub.

yep.

They hold the drum to the hub.
Your wheel nuts will do the same job.

There wont be many folk on here with non standard alloys that still have em fitted
