Having read all the roof repair threads on here ,mine has just started to pinhole over the rear bed - have sealed the holes with white sikkaflex for the moment, however I want to peel the roof and sides off over the winter & replace where necessary

What suppliers have people found for the large ally for the roofskin ?

For the ceiling boards - i have been up to magnum motorhomes http://www.magnummotorhomes.co.uk/

just looking for suppliers for the roof skin & possibly the corrugated sides as mine could really do with the lower sides replacing as they are starting to get tatty

Looks like I will need to brush up on my woodwork skills !

The aluminium for the roof is just over 0.5mm, more like 0.6mm. With my first attempt at patching the roof on my Gipsy I purchased a piece of 2m x 1m sheet which cost me £65.00. I dread to think what the cost of the whole roof would be. Thats why I decided to fibre glass mine, the cost of materials was £130.00.

Regarding the side panels, mine were in a bad state. I ground all the oxide out with a Frost stripping disk,  fibre glassed the holes, and put aluminium filler on the outside.  I had to replace a section where someone had cut out for a step. I couldnt find this profile and we had to make a nylon punch and press out a new piece. If I'd had more time I would have made the whole sides out of fibre glass by making moulds from the old sections. (See my Rotting Gipsy thread). I will post some pics of pressing the panel. Good Luck

Well I have found a supplier for the roof - 6m x 2.3 m ( will need the width trimming down) but its supplied white painted on one side so wont need painting once finished - £ 240

I would also like to replace the extrusions/mouldings along the edges - anyone managed to source these??

normally reusable, new stuff will probably be available from caravan suppliers, doubt if it will match original but if you replacing it all then it won't matter

Van isnt bad - just want it to be 'as new' if i am going to the trouble of pulling it apart, no major leaks at the moment but a few damp areas starting to appear - i spotted the roof pinholing a few years back and sealed them then as a temp measure but i want to do a proper job now. Interested in the ally extrusions as mine are reusable but new ones would be shiny Smile Im Like Jay (Ballbag) - dont like to half do things Tongue
