I have a 1994 Volvo 940 fitted with the 2.4L Intercooled Turbo engine from an LT. It looks like this:
I'd be grateful for some help. It started leaking oil very badly during a summer trip in Europe. At its worst leaking 1.5L of engine oil in just 700 motorway miles! I've cleaned the engine bay up to try and locate the leak, which appears to come from the centre of one of the timing belt tension/guide pulleys. Does this sound like a 'normal' problem and how much work am I looking at to repair? The engine has also sounded very 'clacky' since I've owned the car, I assume this is just piston slap. My main problem has been tracking down a manual. I bought a VW CD workshop manual but it won't let me view data without a chassis number, but of course mine is a Volvo! If anyone can PM me a chassis number of an LT van it would be most useful. Are there any online sources for engine manuals? Thanks! |

Thanks, found alot of useful info.
Any ideas how to get around the specialist tool required to hold the crankshaft dampening pulley? 350NM sounds like too much to 'bodge' a solution |
