Be prepared to change all rubbers bits on brakes belts ect I've just got a barn find 6 years inside and pads n discs are shot ,you can't buy new hoses so go to motor factors and get them to me up universal ones you need to take old ones to get them done to size
Good luck and happy camping

I never posted any photos when I bought my LT35 last year, so here's, hopefully, some from my 2,000mile (so far) Euro trip following some Moto GP races.

No idea, I've spent hours under it, timing belt and brakes, and not seen a tag... Saw another one going the other way in Germany, even got a wave!

Hey Everyone. We bought our -82 LT35 last spring. She had already been converted to a motor home back in -91 so we will be doing an overhaul of the interior, adding some modern features etc, but no major rebuild.

Overall I'd say she's in very good shape for such an old van, but in need of some technical TLC.

She has her own instagram account with a bunch of pictures @bellecamper, because, well why not :)

Just one question, do you have spiral springs in the front and not Leaf springs like in the back?

Hey, oh yeah I just hadn’t entered all the details in my profile, sorry about that.

We have the twin rear wheels axle with only two leaf springs, which seems a bit weird. And atthe front we have a normal coil/spring setup, no leafs or beam.

I’m pretty sure we need to replace the leafs springs but that’s a topic for the tech forum...

Hello volksfolks,

Just got my 1976 Lt28 "Elvis" up from Marlow in Athlone. I`m buzzing.Smile
It`s a 2.0L petrol LPG converted camper, interior is exactly like an early Westfalia, possibly Deluxe/Como.
Shower/toilet, 4 seat dining area, cooker, fridge, hot/cold water, etc.
Roof is a rare one combining the back end of a standard VW hightop but with an extended front.
It needs a bit of work, been lying in a field for 6 years but will live again.

I`ll try and get some pics up when I`m home.

Owning this over 7 years now .. spend the last 3 years in the shed and in the bodyshop being rebuild.

Result ... very satisfied.

Took it offroad on the Busfest Syncro trail 1 week after it left the paintbooth :p
