look between the two injectors closest to the front of the van , its just below them , stamped on block . bit difficult to see straight away due to back of pump/hoses etc but will be quite obvious once u get a torch on it ( and a rag with a bit of derv/meths etc) |

just taken a pic of an old block. if you look to right of pump , i have laid a thin grey sliver of metal acroos block , its on that flat machined face just above that ( bout 15mm x 80mm) . think the number you found is the cylinder head part number . the engine code/number will begin with 2 letters ie JX Edited by ELVIS |

Looks like it`s either rusted enough to conceal the number. or it may have had a new replacement engine/block with no number stamped on it. Should be on that flat surface in your foto. Try shining up that flat area with some wet n dry paper to see if the number becomes visible. Mine is very hard to make out due to corrosion.

the german dealer i bought the van off mentioned that the engine had been replaced 30.000km ago...... I've had a real good look and can't make out any form of letter or number on the section.Im just concerned that if i send the form without the engine code on... they will either just not register it or worse sva it!!!!

stop stressing.
Just put the 2 letter code from the sticker under the dash (JX,CY,CS or whatever) in the engine number box on the paperwork and send it off. theyre really not bothered about the engine number on old motors. Edited by Tee3 |
