Topic: What is covered by the warranty? Posted: 03 May 07 at 15:58 |
To save me delving into the small print of my warranty, what exactly does the warranty cover? One of my door speakers crackles when I rack up the volume - not excessively, but enough to listen to a CD effectively. I know it sounds rather trivial, but it seems daft me forking out a few bob if VW will fork it out for me!

Far as I'm aware T5camper, that should be covered as long as it's a standard factory fitted speaker....

Thanks Yardie, it's definitely factory fitted, and VW fitted CD player, I'll give them a ring.

The warranty covers all components against manufacturing or material defects i.e. not wear and tear.
It could be argued that the speaker has been damaged by excessive volume from a too powerful radio, but if you still have the factory fit radio installed you should reasonably expect the speakers to cope.

The warranty covers everything thats not broken. VW warranty or the lazy dealers is one of the worst of all car makers.

Out of all the manufacturers i have worked for or dealt with the VW warrenty is pretty good. I used to work at Vx and they wouldnt even give courtesy vehicles to van customers!!! And the 'out of warranty' goodwill spend at VW is unbeatable.
