Its going mad! Surely it would be cheaper to get some moulded? Even with the cost of the tooling.

Truly mad prices... It may be the right time to slap my NOS set up there and get a return on my investment !

Mmmm tooling for injection moulding is not cheap.. even when you know someone in the trade... (my shifters..)
If there was enough demand some very nice high quality and durable fibreglass ones could be made (my brother used to make very high quality race fairings that even the works teams used to buy over the factory carbon fibre ones coz they were lighter and more durable.. surprising I know)
But again they wouldnt be cheap..
easier would be to find the OE manufacturer...

There is the option of getting some of those used on the mtallic blue Doka at Vanfest - the one with the crane on the back - and adapting. If there is sufficient interest, perhaps a bulk order as it would be cheaper to ship?
Or, is this an Anal Anorak Corner job where they "just have to be original"?
Am in SoCal in a few weeks so could have a look see whilst over there.
On the subject of moulding, how about Rotamoulding some in HD rubber, similar to the rubber dustbin lids. There are quite a few suppliers and the process should be cheaper than injection moulding.
