fuel return pipe connector

   Hi All
Could use some advice on the below pipe connector I have posted a pic on.

Gave the attached connector a wiggle yesterday when fault finding a fuel gauge issue (it seemed to help!) but when doing so, some fuel escaped also. Worth noting the engine was running.

Not sure what this part is. It's located on the RF pipe and there is a spring loaded insert which also moved side to side a bit.

Does this all sound normal or will it need fixing?
