evening all, I'm Anthony and I've just purchased a t4 its an early 2.4 lwb and is a bit tatty but seems to run well.  i have purchased it as a base vehicle to start my new flooring business and its going to be resprayed in a colour that works with my company logos etc.   any way pictures talk more than words so heres a few so far.

As it was when delivered.

and the night it arrived i had the bulk head the shelves and the crap out of the back.

the tyres and steels are shot so i sourced a new set.

then this weekend the strip down began.

took the tow bar off too as i won't ever use it.

seems to have drummed up some followers on ebay so might get something back from that.

have now knocked the worst of the dents out ready for a skim of filler and fibreglassed any holes etc from roof racks and extra locks I've removed.

thats it for now hoping to have the filling and priming done this weekend but will be weather dependent as its all being done on my driveway.

will keep the thread up to date, hopefully shouldn't take too long as its holding up my beetle project, just depends on the time the prep work takes. the whole van has dents both in and out so will take a bit of work.

had a spanner in the works with the colour choice today. I was going to go for audi arrow grey (aviator grey) but have found out its a pearl based on a few different layers so that will probably be out of my price range and beyond my ability as well.
The colour I'm trying to achieve is a pale grey like primer with a shine. Am quite tempted to primer it then lacquer it to see if that works.

well i figured i could pay a couple of grand for a tidy one and have to key it all back for my colour any way so though i may just as well find a tatty cheap one that goes well and add a couple of weekends prep to the list. theres something satisfying about seeing a heap all dent free and polished up.

I'm doing a full body off beetle project as well at the moment, the t4 is so much quicker to work on. I was amazed how simple and quick the stripping down was even the door handles are two screws and a wiggle nice and easy.

the only mechanical problem i have left to deal with is a power steering leak thats dropping all the fluid, I'm yet to locate the problem but have a garage that owe me a favour anyway so will let them get covered in crap for that one i think.

all the electrical problems where dealt with in about 20 mins, it had no fuel gauge no warning lights or interior lights.  all turned out to be tired fuses or loose wires.

had a change of heart with the colour choice. don't think many will like it its certainly a bit marmite!

vw pre 67 bettle savanna beige.

i think it will look quite cool if i can find find some air-cooled style wheels that fit and keep the van simple and low!
