Hard Brake pedal

   Hi All
LT50 DV engine

Box had been standing for a bit and pulling away brakes very hard, after a bit I had a normal brake again.

I had a look at the vacuum hoses and checked for leaks, but couldn't find anything. I removed banjo fitting from vacuum pump and noticed that there was some oil. There seemed to be a reasonable suck of air when I removed it.

My question is should there be oil present at that banjo joint and how best to diagnose a failing vacuum pump.
