Hi everyone,

Since my camper LT is missing both it’s water tanks, and getting an original is close to impossible, i’m curious how you tackled mounting a water tank.
As far as I know, under the floor there is around 100x50x25 cm space. I don’t want the tank to be extending too much down, as i’m off-roading quite a lot. I found some tanks which might fit, but maybe it’s better to find someone who will weld one/create one from plastic, that would fit the LT underfloor?

There are metal enforcements on the floor, so the tank must be mounted under them, but if the tank would be moulded, it could hide higher.

Any recommendations on buying a proper tank?

So far I’ve narrowed it down to:

and

Would they fit? What’s your recommendations?

Thanks!

CAK in the UK do two specific tanks.
VW OLD LT TO 96
022 VW LT FRESH – 68 lit (13) O/S BEHIND DRIVERS FRONT JACK POINT
021 VW LT WASTE – 54 lit (15) O/S FOLLOWS ON BEHIND FRESH

Fitting is usually by perforated straps, or square tubing with long bolts.

These tanks are rotamoulded or blowmoulded, which means there are no joints. Plastic welding is not really meant to be vibrated and shocked, so a fabricated one may not hold together for too long. I have been in plastic fabrication for thiry years or so.
