Planning a trip to your side of the ocean for the summer of 2020. In previous forays to the continent & Africa we've purchased and then resold used vehicles, taking a slight loss to move it fast. Buying and selling seems to involve more red tape these days and is always a bit of a time waster and adds stress to the whole deal.
So we're looking at renting and would love to check out one of those T6 Californias (which are unavailable in California or any of the other 49 states!) Problem is looking online through actual companies that do this the cost looks to be 100 plus pounds a day. Since we are thinking of doing 10 weeks or so it really adds up! Any ideas on who to contact to get a more affordable price? Thanks.

Should have clarified that we are planning on staying in the UK that entire time. So right hand drive is ideal. I know they are cheaper on the continent, just wanted to see if anyone had a line on one in GB.

There are a few hire firms listed on vwcaliforniaclub.com and for short rentals you will pay over £100 a day. For a 10 week period I would expect the daily rate to be nearer to £50 a day but not if you want to rent in peak summer time.
Maybe you could find an owner on that club site willing to offer 10 weeks privately? |
