SOLD

1991 Caravelle Carat

I've been working on & off on this for the last couple of years to get
it up to it's current condition ... can't remember all of what it's had done, but it owes me alot more than the asking price :( . To many projects .. time to move on.

The engine it came with was a AHU, worn manual pump/no turbo .. no compression = scrap.
2nd engine AAZ, ( sold as a "good runner") everything about it was worn/knackered .. loads of man hours later = scrap
Now fitted with a good AAZ (1.9TD), new cam belt kit, water pump,
boost pin, oil & filter, 1.7D thermostat (lower opening), cone air filter, pipes, wiring etc.
Replacement 5spd box, fresh oil, new clutch.
Replacement selector rods, bushes & gearbox drop arm.
New solid hydrolic clutch pipe (master>slave).
Coolant system flushed, 7Lts of G13
Brakes overhauled (to much to list)
New fuel lines & filter
Jamex front shocks.
Various electrical issues (many man hours) .. replacement (late/correct diesel) dash console .. all working.
Atiwe (Cheese hole) alloys with correct nut/bolts & center caps, good tyres. Could do with a refeb due to lacquer peel.

                                The Good
The cargo area interior makes the Carat .. it's in very good condition for it's age.
This Carat is a bit of a rare best as it still has both electric seats, most I've seen have been binned for Velle or R&R beds.
There in gwo with a choice of lap or 3 point fixed belts, the swivel seats work fine with lap belts .. all the seats are in gc with the
correct head rests & pads.
Carpets, headliner, table, vinyl covered moulded panels & fabric covered panels etc all in vgc.

Other Velle/Carat parts:
Sun roof, tinted glass, green tinted front screen, big mirrors, lowered 30mm, square head lights, big bumpers & body kit, swan neck tow bar, rear aux heater .. etc
Underneath/chassis solid .. I don't think it's every been welded.

                                   The Bad
Bits robbed/missing .. (in Poland !)
The central locking actuators, the mounting plates/connector blocks/
loom & relays are still present.
Power steering .. probably removed on one of it's many engine changes !
Cab dr cards & mirror switches .. again all the wiring seems to be there.
One cab seat has both arm rests missing.
Early tail gate with £100 of filler in it ! . comes with it's original lock.
The paint is a respray done many years ago ..not great, bit of surface bubbling around the N/S middle window .. other minor flaws (no rot) . The silver/grey areas are primer that never got top coat.

                                      The weird
Painted black dr shuts !
Colour coded grill .. I've got use to them
All four inner wheel arches have fibre glass (I think) tubs fitted .. a lot of work & a good fit. Probably other bits ..

It's on Polish plates so needs registering.
Has MOT till Dec, Polish doc's including Passport. Nova #,Birth cert on it's way ! so should be straight forward.

A good solid & reliable Carat that runs & drives well, needs nothing
as a daily runner or slowly return to original spec & condition .. It'll be worth 10>15k

£6000
