I’m a complete amateur but I’ve decided to swap my DG engine for a reconditioned one. It’s all going well so far but my distributor seems to be 90 degrees out. I’ve set the crank to top dead centre (double checking the crank pulley indicator is accurate) and the distributor rotor arm is pointing to cylinder 2. Any suggestions?

You can either move the distributor drive 90 degrees or just move the leads round

It would’ve taken me months to think of changing the leads round! 🤦🏻♂️
Is it easy to move the drive? |

just loosen the pinch bolt and twist. you shouldn't need to moving the leads. I assume you have fitted the distributor from your old engine? something sounds awry for it to be so far out.
