Hi I've taken the plunge got hold of some
Mercedes Alloys 16xJ7 ET 37 from a 320 CLK (P/N 208 401 01 02)( look like
these https://e.allegroimg.com/original/0155c7/7dc84f0b4814a92248c0d0e685ae ).
I'm hoping this is going to make the ride a bit smoother and reduce the being
blow around the carriage way feeling. Three questions really: 1. What tyres should I run on
them, was thinking 205/60/16 as this matches the original 184/80/14
circumference but reading around there is lots of variation being
used, what's 'recommended' (I'm on a stock JX engine and 5 speed box) 2. What bolt lengths should I be
getting? the bolt hole is 24mm deep so my understanding is that i need:
3. No spaces needed as ET is < 39? All input greatfully received Thanks Matt Edited by mattm123 - 25 Apr 18 at 14:22 |

Have a play with: I'm running 205/65 R15 on my 15" rims to match the circumference of the factory 14" alloys (which were 205 wide too). I woudn't go much wider with a JX as it already has a hard life as it is.

Thanks for the input
Looks like getting small radius bolts for Mec wheels on the front (from brickwerks at least) isn't possible so will have to do a stud conversion shopping list is looking like 10 x LONG WHEEL STUDS > 60MM [M14X1.5] 10 X CONVERSION STUD - M14X1.5 / 60MM 20 X WHEEL NUT - M14X1.5 / RADIUSED SEAT (R12) / CLOSED END / CHROME 1 X BEARING FIT AND STUD LOCK - 10ML + 4 shiny new tyres |
