Hello everyone,

Who can help us out with some info. We did some engine swaps in the past regarding 1.9 TD(i), Subaru petrol engines and so on but always with a T3 bus gearbox, 5 gear Passat gearbox or french filth gearbox.  No we would like to convert a 1992 T3 Limited Last Edition from a 1.6JX 5 speed to a 2003 Passat engine (1.9 TDI with code AVF) and 6 speed gearbox (Code FRK).

The 1.9 engine is not a thing to worry about for u but the gearbox could be. Does anyone have experience with 6 speed Passat gearboxes? The 5 speed gearbox we always flip around, will this work on the 6 speed? What to do with the mounting from gearbox to engine? What to do about the axles? I have seen a sort of spacers on the internet to get the diameters right from axle to gearbox.

Who can help us out with some info or pictures??!

Have a great day,

Bauke (Netherlands)
