Now sold.

Here's a chance to pick up a T4 Caravelle Syncro project.

I've had it for around 5 years and it's been a good servant, but sadly has failed its last MoT test due to the dreaded tin worm. As you will see from the pics, it's had a couple of incidents while I've had it - the missus scraped it down the corner of the house, and I managed to reverse into a bollard.

It's a Caravelle GL Syncro, 2.4l non-turbo diesel, 8 seats, sunroof, alloy wheels.

It would be easy enough to fix up to go through an MoT if you are able do the welding yourself but it's not cost-effective for me to pay someone to do it.

I'm based north of York.

Im not sure about price, so let's say £2000 for the rules, but I will accept offers.

I don't, no, but it came from Cumbria.

It actually looks worse than it is - the MoT tester has been poking around.

OK, so clearly my initial pricing was rather unrealistic. Is it worth £1000 to anyone?

Other than the rust, it is a great bus and has served me well. The quote from my local garage was £500-£600 to weld it up to get it through the MoT, but that is mostly labour so if you can do it yourself then it would be much cheaper.

Any offers?

EDIT: Photos should now be working.

I've had several enquiries by PM many asking for interior shots, so here we go. Bear in mind that it has not been put back together since the MoT, ie. all the interior panels, etc. are present but not fitted. Same for the dangling seatbelts, etc.

Also of interest, I fired the engine up for the first time in over 6 months and it started practically first turn as it always does.

I might even consider getting it fixed up and back on the ... NO, NO, NO - I must be strong, it has to go! As has my Golf GTI that's been sat in my Dad's shed for over 3 years... I'm an hopeless case!

Yes, probably. Sadly, I don't have a lot of spare time so someone else needs to give me a grand and profit! :)

This Golf *is* lovely. I'm loath to sell it, but it's not a practical car for a) 6 kids, b) all my guitar gear.

I'll be buying another Bus as soon as I find one.

Yeah. We actually have 8 in total. I had 3, partner had 3, we got together and had twins = 8 in total. But two of hers are grown up and have flown the nest. so we only have 6 kicking around on a daily basis.

Maybe I should try for the sympathy vote to help sell my bus?? :)
