Help needed if possible please , we recently fitted the AAZ into my 1.6 diesel as we have done this conversion on my last van a few years ago with no problems , we got it running but it would not rev out properly and chucked smoke out but would tickover fine so after reading up on the problem took the engine out checked the timming wich was fine and had a mechanic set the pump timming put it back in and it's still the same , any ideas ? We did take the throttle mech off before getting it running but have been twisting it manually could this be the problem I'm just waiting for my conversion ones to arrive , any help would be much appreciated as I'm getting close to the point of burning it now . The mechanic set the pump at 80 on gauge I think is that corect ?

Hi, thanks for the reply, no we didn't mark anything up at all , there's no mechanism on throttle at all we are just twisting the splined part to try and Rev it , should it rev up like this or dos it need the mechanism on properly to rev do you know ? I got my brickwerks throttle arms yesterday so gonna fit them today , is there any instructions anywhere regarding the throttle arm as I have nothing to go off. Thanks.

From memory, you need to maintain control of the throttle spindle when removing arms as it`s already preloaded. So it might have jumped back too far and not coming into the rev range. People tend to set jx pumps to 1mm. I would be inclined to bring the aaz one forward to at least .9
