    Posted: 15 Apr 15 at 12:42
Hi All,

I am just trying to see if there may be an interest in purchasing my:

South African 1992 Original Big Window 2.1 T3 Syncro.

(The vehicle is still in South Africa and buyer must pay shipping)

This is one of only 89 Big Window Syncro's ever manufactured in South Africa.

Vehicle still has has beautiful original interior,
Power Steering,
AirCon,
Manual Windows,
Dual Spare Wheel Bracket c/w towbar--(2 Spare wheels supplied)
Front Bullbar
Roofrack c/w 2 gas bottle holders and another spare wheel bracket.
Original "Bullet-hole" rims and 14" tyres--6 off
Dual Battery System
Little Black Box = Vehicle monitor and early warning--(google little black box)
Diff-Locks front and rear fully functional

Vehicle has +/- 237 000 km on the body,
and is 99.999% rust free--with small spots under front window.

It has the original 2.1 Motor
--re-manufactured by Competition Motors (Durban) +/- 77 000km ago
--and still has excellent power and torque.

I have just spent a great deal of money on:

Making the interior perfectly original,
Full service.
New starter + Alternator (now bigger 90AH output), New Distributer + rotor +cap,
new seals on doors and engine compartment
etc,etc

I also have
--not fitted--
15" brake upgrade components--discs + calipers + heavy duty springs + 3 off 15" Mercedes rims.

I am basically looking for someone that wants a stunning, original collector's item.

With the current rate of exchange I'm looking at selling for about  GBP7000 neg--buyer pays shipping

I have trouble loading pics--but will load as soon as possible--if any interest shown.

Thanks and Regards

Paul

I wonder how expensive it would be to fly to South Africa and drive it back... the experience alone would be priceless!

I briefly (very) looked at this before. Fab road trip circa of 9000 miles, but I'd skirt around Congo plus afew other choice locations then up the middle. Don't forget your malaria jabs.
I BOOKED MY TICKET TO HELL ALONG TIME AGO.

Wow Guys!!

Never thought it would be THAT expensive to transport.

If anyone is SERIOUSLY interested
---and you've been watching the Rand slide further against the GBP,

then you will find that I can now reduce the price to +/-GBP6200.

I know it's sill relatively expensive--but you are getting a classic, collectors item.

I ride an adventure bike, and --as one would expect--have done some Cape to Cairo research,

The trip is easy these days--generally good tar roads through Africa---thanks to the Chinese.

The last post was 3 years ago, so you might be just a little late! (Although you never know I suppose...)

Hi Andries,

The vehicle is available,-and in great original condition. (a bump on each side on the back--got caught in a channel whilst off-roading, and a little rust under the windscreen)

BUT,
I unfortunately blew the 2.1 engine about 3 weeks ago.

I am still deciding what to do.

Fitting a 2.0 golf is the best answer.
I have a 2.0 AGG that was fully reconditioned (new pistons, rings, reconditioned head etc) about 4000km ago that has a leak in the block.

So---an alternate block--then move all the other bits over
---the all the other parts required for the actual installation into the bus.
