Hi I am new to the forum and would like to ask you all for some help.
I own a 2.5 shuttle engine code axd and have recently been suffering a serious judder between tick over and 2000 rpm. I removed the rocker cover and discovered the cam shaft was badly worn. I fitted a new camshaft followers ect using the correct tool and set the timing. started the van and judder the same. Drove the van to a mates with vag com and he read the fault codes as p0305 cyl 5 missfire detected. The garage thought this was possibly caused by a compression problem . so I removed the front and intake manifold and they checked the compression all at about 220 psi this was deemed to low and was the cause of the missfire. the problem I have is the guage used was not correct and did not seal properly causing air to pass the threads and if the compression was low across the engine would not the vag software have picked up multiple missfires? has anyone suffered this before? thanks for your time hope you have some ideas. van is a t5 shuttle 2.5 axd 160000 miles full vag service history running on longlife oil 0/30 as reccomended by tps. I am quite competent and own 3 t5's all have been excellent with little or no problems. |

Injector? Fuel supply to injector?
I am no expert but if the compression was low across the engine the same I would be thinking like you. Ask Max and Caddy? Edited by Alonline - 15 Mar 14 at 19:48 |

Hi, sounds like an injector to me also, try swapping it with another cylinder and rechecking faults to see if the fault code moves cylinders too

Hi all thanks for your advice moved injector and misfire moved too!!
New. Injector fitted van back and driving fine. New seals fitted bit tricky due to the fretting on cylinder head. Will post name of injector refurb company later as the service and price were excellent!!! |

And thanks for returning and telling us the outcome, so many people come on here, ask their questions and then disappear, never to be seen again.
