For sale T3 1984 T3 Devon conversion camper van with blown headgasket

Plymouth. PL3 4RA

MOT until 9th Jan 2014. The van had a reconditioned engine at 49,000 miles in May 2007 and has only done 23,000 since then.

Engine head gasket loss of compression (not sure if both cylinders) after engine overheated after losing water. Possible an air lock in the radiator or pipe somewhere caused the problem. Always used antifreeze fluid so the head bolts should be ok.

Still runs rough but loss of power up hills.

Inside there is a rock'n'roll bed that sleeps two very comfortably and comes with extra thick cushions.

It has a 240v electric hook up for campsites and two standard plugs sockets just to the left of the cooker.

There is a Zig unit for running a leisure battery however there is not one connected. It does have a fridge however this is not connected as we usually use cool boxes. There is a sink however a drain pipe needs to be fitted. There are two gas bottles included and the cooker and grill are clean and work well.

The body has been hand painted as this was how we received the van and it has been repainted every two years to protect it.

The body work would need some tidying for bits of rust if you are worried, but even though the van is old it is solid and has been kept weleded for mot's as necessary. The front seats are good with nice arm rests and have been replaced (see pixs), the passenger seat being able to rotate and face the back of the van.

Everything works ok, the gearbox and clutch are good, The brakes, steering and tyres good. The interior clean.. The lights good. Sliding door a bit stiff, but works ok with a pull.

Was running every weekend for fun on the beach and the moor until last week!. Just the head gasket sadly for us with the summer so nice.

Would make a good project if you have time to do the engine work yourself, garage say around 10 to 12 hours labour and can be done without taking out the engine. Parts are inexpensive and easy to source.

Looking for offers around £950.
