Hi all decided to do a bit of a build thread on the van, As i got a 2.1 pinto origionally 2.1 dj (previously thought it was 1.9dg)

Many hours spent removeing the green paint to reaveal a pretty good straight panel van underneath. Firstly binned the dg in place of pug 2.1 td 112bhp pushes the old girl along well and also plenty of torque for towing

Then i came across a rotten velle with factory fitted sliding sunroof and thought it would be good on the panel so exchange a few beer tokens and with some drilling welding and grinding i ended up with this

Ended up working away from home for a while over summer so never got that much done but spent my evening making some new seats up.
Got the recaros of ebay For £50 and cut the bases down and adapted t3 runners onto them so they are the same height as standard seats and easy to get in and out of unlike some ive seen fitted in the past. A friend gave me 2 sets of adjustable arm rests he had lying around in the loft and i couldnt resist!
Pic shows first one fitted with armrests i have since got the fabric off the rear seats of the car so i can cover the arm rests to match the seats

after getting some jobs a bit nearer home the last few weeks have been spent sourceing some big bumper parts, so far managed to get door pods front bumper and big mirrors still looking for a decent rear big bumper at the mo.
Got plenty of prep done to and called in another favour Wink
Got all the panels in friends oven tonight (thanks Kev i owe you one) and hopefully should all be in primer tommorow night and ready for top coat early next week

another hour and a half in the oven and got the rolling shell done Smile

The greens just a primer like the grey but has a higher build than the grey does better for covering any little marks id missed and better for metal finished repairs where theres no filler like the front steps

Eventually feel like im getting somewhere!

getting there now got the van all blocked out and reprimed the bits for the second time where there was more shaping?blocking needed
Unfortunately had to skim the rear quarter panel above the rear arch as a huge dent appeared in it (obviously nobody would admit to doing it!!!!)
Also got all the small parts done used a thin coat of high build primer as they were all undamaged and nearly mint, got the 2 side panels done, door podsand  the bases and cover caps for mirrors and big mirrors primed up
Sorry about poor quality pics just fitted a load of new tubes in the lights very bright now
At least i can see the end in sight for the prep work looking forward to getting some colour on!
