For Sale is for my 1989 T3 1600 TD Magnum Westfalia Multivan. I only bought this van in July this year from Spannerboy after searching high and low for a decent example. Unfortunately my wife has lost her job and also her company car. We are genuinely really gutted to have to potentially let this go, however our financial circumstances mean we have little choice I have used the van as my daily vehicle and have already covered over 2000 miles in it over the course of the last 6 weeks (I travel 100 miles a day for work) and we have also taken it on a few long trips as well. Mechanically it really is spot on. It had a recon engine 2 years ago, it doesn't use any water or oil and drives really nicely. It also has the benefit of the rarer 5 speed gearbox which is nice and quiet, and changes up and down perfectly. Even rarer is the factory fitted power steering, which has just had the pump replaced as the previous one was leaking. While this was being done a few of the diesel pipes were replaced as well. If driven sensibly the MPG is excellent, with 100 miles costing me about £13.00 in diesel. While queuing for a couple of hours to get into Bug Jam last month I can confirm that the van never gets hot, and the fan clicks on and off when required. The van was imported from Germany a few years ago, one thing worth mentioning is that it isn't as slow as you may think either. When I bought it the advert stated it was mechanically 10/10 and bodywork wise 7.5/10 and I'd agree with that as a fair assessment of the overall condition. Like most T3 it does have a little seam rash, however none of it is too bad and I have included pictures so you can see for yourselves. Overall the van is very presentable, it is factory lowered and sitting on replica white Porsche Fuch's. It also has the rare projektzwo fogs, square headlights and factory bodykit. It has had a replacement sliding door fitted with the sliding glass windows, and also comes with a genuine Westfalia chest fridge (we use this as a seat as well) and all the original westfalia curtains, and mattress for the comfortable full width rock and roll bed. There is some wear on the drivers seat and the arm rests, but other than that the interior is in very good condition. It has a kenwood CD player fitted. It also has a dealership fitted sunroof. It has seat belts in the rear, including on the buddy seat. (One top tip; a thetford portaloo fits under the lift up buddy seat perfectly, allowing you to have a loo in the van without wasting any space!) We bought a set of JK thermo window pads (available separately) and these fitted along with the original curtains make the interior almost pitch black even when it is light outside! Most of the rear windows are tinted, only the rear hatch and sliding door ones aren't as these two panels have been replaced with better condition ones. Overall then it is a very presentable, good looking, mechanically excellent, rare T3 that can be driven away anywhere, off on holiday without any worries at all. It is an original Westfalia van, so not a home conversion or ex-panel van and has almost a years MOT, and 4 months Tax. Insurance for me through RH is £101 per year fully comp, and this premium includes breakdown cover as well. Price wise I paid £4k and I won't sell it for anything less than that. I doubt I will be able to replace it for that money should our circumstances change either. I have it on ebay, along with my GSXR1000 as well so if the bike sells first then we will hopefully be able to keep the Magnum. It's in Ipswich, Suffolk. I would consider a PX as we are going to need a car, but we would need to see quite a bit of money our way in the deal. My number is 07885 216466. I never usually care too much about parting with a vehicle but I genuinely do not want to sell this, so no silly offers please. |

Looks great - good luck with the sale - your insurance premium is very low - what company is RH? You must live in the safest place on Earth!

Thanks! They are called Richard Hoskins insurance. I'm 35 which probably helps and it's a classic policy, although my wife is 25 and she's on the policy too. It's more expensive than my 59 bugs insurance!
