Just a quickie about my notchy gearchange.
I popped the spare wheel down and just greased the whole mechanism. Then pulled up the gaitor and greased it from above.
What a difference!! Wow.
I know its the most basic of things to do or check, but i just thought i would share it with you. If you have 10 minutes spare then grease it up baby you wont regret it!
I think greasing parts might get overlooked a little?

do the bushes along the linkage, and inside the rubber boots at the back too. keeps it slick and slippery.
