Living, as I do, a couple of miles away from Bernie and Leepu's garage I would wager a guess that the bodywork skills exhibited on the programme are mirrored exactly by the dozens of other 'Arches Garages' that fill the road either side of them....!
Maybe we could start a competition to 'Name your favourite (or not) Celebrity' to have a car botched, sorry built by these two... That way should they ever feel the need to drive it, you can rest assured that with the car not being road legal in anyway (MOT Certificate supplied for £20 in the Salmon and Ball at Bethnal Green) the first time they shunt anything it will disintegrate in a cloud of dust and flames!!!

the best one they did was the johnny vegas car where they got a mk 2 golf, and put the engine and 4wd from a scooby in it. well it was good until they started on the bodywork anyway

(the second hot one , not the first fucking grotpig who does accounts. And that Dwayne or whatever hes called, the foreman, could easily earn a 46mm socket on a 3/4" breaker in the chops!)

i really couldnt give a toss Its TV, its not real life. I tell you what... hate me if you want... but ive done bits of filler here and there, and i'll tell you this muc - Anyone who can take that amount of filler, and carve it into a pretty much perfect form... with no ripples, low spots or high spots... get my respect Some of that spon is as smooth as glass Surely you know its not meant to be a masterclass in how to build hot rods? Its entertaining because they are such a pair of idiots. Sorry, i quite like em for it Edited by Tee3 - 03 Feb 11 at 23:27 |

The funniest is bangla bangas with Bernie & Leepu, it's worth watching for pure comedy value. His workers weld without shoes on and squinting as they don't have masks. Bench testing engines on a busy pavement and in the work shop there are literally vats of filler. Most of the cars are square and angled and then incredibly the next day they appear sculpted and curvy.
I too saw the abomination at VW action, think you could pay a £1 and hit it with a big hammer. Filler on the boot was a minimum of 4" thick. My indian mate says he is like god in Bangladesh, but agrees they need to be educated by Chip Foose and Boyd Coddington......now thats how it's done. |
