I am going the Audi route with some 16" 5 spoke Audi S2 rims. They will need the centre bore machining and a coat of paint but are just the look I was hoping for. They look like the Ronal R9s but smoother which will complement the design of the T3 IMO. Pictures when I fit them! |

just got these for mine, vauxhall carlton, i know the vauxhall pcd is 5x110 but the bolt holes have been bored out from 12mm to 14mm and this has made them into 5x112 (apparently) i know they shouldnt fit but they do. they need 10mm spacers and longer bolts on the front and longer studs on the back. If you drill them doesn't the pcd stay the same only with bigger holes? unless they have been drilled 2mm offset!(yikes!) |

BY enlarging the hole, you havnt altered the PCD, its measured as an imaginary circle which passes the centre of all the holes... What you have done is moved the bolts 1mm out towards the edge of the wheel. Thats not the problem as such, the problem is that by doing this you have also altered the position of the bolt/nuts mounting face (radius) in relation to that of the wheel, so one of 2 things MUST have happened. At best (!) the studs/bolts will be bent as you tightened them and forced the radius seat 1mm out of place, or worse case, the nuts/bolts will only be touching a small percentage of the mounting face (radius) of the wheel. Radius (and tapered for that matter) nuts stay on by "locking" into the metal of the wheel... they bite in, and dont come loose. If the nuts are only touching a small amount of the mounting face, they only have limited "bite". Consequences? Disastrous! As long as youre happy, then its nobodies business, as long as if/when they come off youre in a big open space... Theres no way I would carry my family in a bus with them fitted though. scuse me ignorance, but i asume the 14mm ball taper standard refers to the shape of the fixing nuts/bolts in reference to the merc wheels. And does anyone know what size spacers i should use on my 17inch ml wheels? my van will be lowered but was thinking of around 40 mm. or does this whole thing rest on chosen tyre size and how much the van is dropped by?

mercedes C class steelies part # 210 xxx xxx 37ET 15 x 6 use original vw bolts/nuts , centres are big enough to fit with no machining . a straight 'fit and forget' . i have a -45mm jamex kit and have a set of 195/70 15s fitted , no rubbing/interference. only slight 'problem' , the back edge of the rim is very close ( 3 or 4 mm) to the top balljoint so if you have to fit weights on the back use the sticky type not the ones that clip/hammer onto rim. |

Just fitted these to the bloodwagen (and dropped it a tad too).
16" CLK wheels 205/55 tyres on, i assume they are 7" wide ET37. 10mm spacers all round so the caps fit. no trouble with sliding door. stud conversion on front, longer studs on rear. |

I've been lucky with finding useable wheels. Have a set of rims from a Scorpio with RS on them. 15x7 and ET28 I think. Got the centres bored out and they look good and no rubbing issues with 215/75-15 coopers. Had to make a small hole in the rear centrecaps.
Looks like this: Also, aftermarket rims for the first audi allroad fit nicely. Usually the only issue is removing the spacer ring in the centre hole and presto! I've found these 17xsomethings with an ET of 25. No rubbing with 225/55-17 tires. I think they are called PT Como. Some year or another passat wheels had ET 37. Just bored them out and fitted wheel caps from a T4. Hope this is helpful :D |
