Well i pulled the engine today, all went ok, apart from the gearbox is smashed so i guess ill be doing a manual conversion. Brought a Diesel four speed box, linkage, pedal setup and lever. So its all a bit more work but probaly necessary in the long run anyway. The muppet who i brought this van off had proper bodged the engine and gearbox in. Oh well more work!!

see if you can find a code for it it may make your engine work very hard for very little momentum!

get the gearbox code, a 4 speed diesel box will have you revving the nuts off it and going nowhere..

you need a petrol box  - higher gear ratios etc..

and I've got one for sale Wink

I've not seen an auto trans but is it centered on the studs only ? The petrol bell has a milled step, and the diesel has two 16mm dowels.

(PS. Perhaps I should explain that I'm just designing an adapter plate so paying close attention to what others have done..)

Well, ive sorted alot of the bits now. But it just seems i keep finding more parts that need to be swapped for this conversion. Ie the drive shafts.

the last few bits i need for this conversion are a five speed box, linkage, shifter, drive shafts

Clutch, Clutch pedal, master cylinder, Cable etc

Then the rest of the little bits like exhaust, oil pick up tube, Dipstick. Battery tray.

Then hopefully start to put this thing together soon.

Hey, ive managed to purchase an unfinished panel van which has had an AGG put in it already. But he hasnt fitted the shit plate. I have one. Is it worth putting it in or will it not make much difference?
he's also deleted the lambda :( so im gonna have to put a new one in. Infact the whole exhaust is a bit dodgy TBH hes used the Mk3 downpipe which now ends right underneath the sump. Precariously poised to smash said sump should it ever take a knock. Think it might need a rethink. How has everyone else done theirs?
