Went to unlock the van with the key fob but it won't unlock the passenger door. If I try and open it from the inside, when I pull the handle, the door pin comes up, but the door wont open. As soon as I take my hand off the handle, the door pin slides back down. I'm assuming it's something to do with the deadlocks??? I've had the battery disconnected for over an hour and still no joy on re-connection. Although she says otherwise, I think Mrs Loon was pulling at the handle at the same time as I was pressing the remote to unlock it. Any ideas?

Hi Loon, check the loom in front of the driver's seat for corroded wires.  A friend of mine had exactly the same problem the other day (and couldn't open the nearside door to release the fuel flap!)  and Insider's post below turned out to be right.

Pulling up most ot the front rubber flooring revealed the wiring was not the problem.

Trying to remove / break the door card whilst the door is shut is nigh on impossible. Opening the sliding door gives access to the front door lock. The small part of the handle (where the key hole is on the drivers door) eventually comes out. I started playing with lock from the inside whilst pulling the handle from the outside. 5 mins of severe frustration, brute roughness and blue air the thing popped open. This was a pure fluke. Started playing with the door lock mechanism with the door open and it locked but wouldn't open. Buggered about some more and got it  to unlatch. A liberal dose of GT85 and a good scrubbing with a toothbrush has cured it. It seems it was just stuck, probably due to the white grease i sprayed in gathering dirt over time. I have now thrown the white grease out, won't be using that again.

Also in the process I fucked the plastic end of the cable that operates the inner door handle, so now that panel will have to come out too.DeadDead

Anyone tell me the knack of re-fitting the door card - I've bought new spring clips and a cable. I was just going to put it to an car ICE installer and leave it with him but I'm scared he fucks it too and says nothing - then I'll have it all to do again.Cry

Glad you got it fixed!  Another handy fix for brick-yard.  Thumbs Up   I've given up with that white grease as well.  It just turns to solid gunge.  I use a clear spray grease which is a bit lighter instead.

Those door trim clips are strange, it's been a while since I did mine but see my door trim thread on the modifications section. Smile   http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/how-to-remove-door-card-trim-pics_topic31752.html

Quality fix dude.

Hope you used the mrs tooth brush to clean the lock and put it back without her knowing Wink just for the thought of her potentially damaging the locks by opening the door whilst you were unlocking it!
Or is that something only i would do?? LOL

No, but since the door jamming was probably not her fault after all, I've kept the use of her toothbrush solely for the unclogging of pubes in the shower drain. And the odd polish of the toilet rim, just in case. Big smileBig smileBig smileBig smile
