more done today! coming along nicely............

started cutting for me new windows

then relocate some of the steels

then make yourself a nice window appeture! and put an upright behind it!

measured up for the front and welded in two more up rights and cut out the middle one

then get up on top and fanny about with the skylight! moved it about abit! up front,at the back  and sideways on? but decided on near the back mainly due to where i cut the roof sheeting as it aint long enough! lots of mastic there then!

welded in a few roof bars to support the (yes you've guessed it) the roof! bit of painting tommorrow and make a start on the flooring!

floors down (kind of) need some longer bolts as i was gunna put 12mm ply down but the the caravan thing happened!

hatch to gain access to the engine if need be! so i dont ave to take the back off if the worst happens!

then threw all the seating stuff in the back to see how the land lies.
going to scrap the seat boxes and make some new-uns but nick a few bits of the old ones. ive got about a foot between the seats which isnt enough!

so cut the seat foam so the mother in law can re-cover em!

painted me bare metal and just want one more bar in the roof for support and the welding is pretty much done

get some lumber next week and make a start on the inside!

Loadsa good work there mate Thumbs Up One thing, I`d be thinking that the window / skylight isn`t going to be very water-tight, those windows are only really going to seal properly when they hang vertically. Seal on a sunroof is a lot more elaborate to keep the water out, as is the clamping system.

Would you say that if anyone is going to do one of these, then maybe get a caravan sorted first and design round the sizes of the parts / windows etc you`ll re-use?

Can you mock it up using the original caravan side-panel the window came out of? Maybe set it up flat on some trestles, build a "wall" round the panel edge (plasticene or similar) and fill the "moat" with water covering the window and see if the seal holds? Be a shame to have to re-do the roof panel afterwards once the thing is built Cry I`d personally be looking at caravan type roof-lights (Fiamma do some good kits, also with electric vent fans in `em) that fit over a raised lip, or even one of those Heki roof lights, which work the same way, the raised lip is the thing to keep out the watter Thumbs Up
