It's a Westy roof on a Caravelle 7 seater. Camper kitchen going in this winter hopefully.

Plate not legal, for show only.

Patrick.

Ah OK. Looks like a nice van, I'm just trying to see how many genuine Westfalia converted Syncros there are about. Not many it seems.

Thats my Red Camper
was originaly a van which I converted using a Holdsworth Villa 3 kit, with Reimo DG windows.
I then added a Reimo pop top and recently converted it to Syncro, front diff and prop not yet fitted

Ah right, OK. Another faux Syncro Westfalia then. Looking now I can see that's a Reimo roof by the raised edge at the base of the canvas and the struts. Doh.
Just how many real factory built Westy Syncros are there about? I've yet to see another in the flesh so to speak.

That looks unusual, who were Fischer?
Double glazing, square lamps, bumper trims and electric mirrors, and Project Zwo fogs, what other nice bits does it have?

http://www.fischer-wohnmobile.de/ Still making top notch VW based campers today.
Square lamps, bumper trims and electric mirrors, and Project Zwo fogs all added by me but did come with hella spots, front and rear diff lock, truma night heater, fresh and waste tanks. Will have soon, well hopefully if I get my finger out, electric windows, power steering, new turret canvas, pentas with Bf Goodrich. Long term plans jacked up, bash plates, custom roof rack and a lpg conversion.

Blimey, you're going for it, adding that lot.LOL
I did wonder how much of what I could see was original, it's a colour I usually associate with base model vans.
Did Fischer build on panels or Caravelles?

Some of it, well most of it so far has come off my Doka that's on the drive awaiting some panel work love and an engine transplant.

It has proper windows so I asume a Caravelle, I'm changing the seats at the mo so when and if it stops raining I'll have a look at the plate and let you know what it started life as.

Mines another RHD Syncro Caravelle with a westy clip attached.

You want to see a rare Westy Syncro - Mudlark's got a genuine 16" Westy. I'm not sure how many of those they made,  but I believe you probably count them on two hands if not one.

There's a thread on the samba at the moment speculating about genuine westy syncro numbers......judging by estimates it's somewhere in the 1000s

cheers,
Rich
