When I had a doka we put an airbed in the rear load bed and slept under the rear canopy. If you are really thin you could sleep in the locker!!

I reckon that the awning is the way to go ... or you could just put up a tent!

trailer tent?! retro AND cooler than a caravan (just :)
Seriously though I reckon a big khyam awning, a decent airbed, and some camping stove bits and you're almost at having the full camper experience. plus you have a doka, which is cool by itself :) |

If you go caravan, get one of those ubercool aerodeck (may be wrong name?) silver tube types, they look the mutts nuts, reckon you could (just) get away with one of those!
Or you could go for one of those little sleep pod things they are always trying to out at the shows....
As long as you are no more than 5' 3" tall and dont have any luggage!
OOH!! OR you could go for one of those drop off camper back things (I need to stop smoking, my memory is shot!), back the doka under it, drop the jacks and away to go, get to the site, jack it up and drive away.... MOST cool! Edited by Stu Dapples - 25 Mar 09 at 21:27 |

Have always camped with a doka, and folks we camp with who own campers end up being jealous of us as we are able to take everything with us and not have to scutter about amongst it to get the rock n roll bed out, etc. Dont get me wrong i have had a camper and when its wet n windy id rather give the tent a miss.
My suggestion is get yourself the biggest tent you can one you can fit 12+ in and stand up in with a big porch that covers the the cab so you can open the rear door into the tent. Telly in the cab music on gas oven on for heating and how cosy is that? Don't forget the kingsize air bed and duvet, though! Why cram in a camper or stand outside in the elements. Optics (spirits) on the drop side is a nice touch. Close up any gaps with a wind break and a camo net. We manage to fit most of the above in the lockers and have wicked times at shows or just camping in general. I can honestly say i dont envy anyone in a camper at shows any how. Idea of just pulling up and getting a good night sleep is cool. But there aren't many places you would get away with that in UK or on continent for that matter. Dokas are way cooler and a little more unique in my opinion. Griff |
