i think i'm gonna get a t4.

i luv me t3s but i need more poke and economy.

have been offered a 96 t4. is a bilbo conversion poptop. 1.9 tdi

exellent condition hardly used (lived in) and only 70ishk on the clock.

(£4500. good price?)

those voices in me head that speak of reason say get it.

then there are those voices that we all hear that say sod it. be unconvenional uneconomical unfast!

i enjoy the talks with strangers on the garage forecourt or in town when they see me t3 and tell me about theirs. and waving to others on t' road. i dont think i'll get this with t4 ownership.

what do i do?

(on another note i think we should set up a VW Anonymous group. if i buy this t4 tomorrow it will be my sixth vdub. THEY ARE A BAD HABIT!  why the hell do i keep buying them. i know i can only drive one at a time!

C,mon... who else is a junky?

confess your sins and father dubweiser will forgive you.

i seem to have a hankering for a t4 lately, the problem is i love my t3 so i dont know why? probably a mid life crisis? that doesn't really help you decide though!

this is a really clean van with a well thought out interior. HUGE fridge (lager lager lager)!

i know t4s cos a mate uses one for work.

mpg is not a mahoosive improvement but it is still better than forkin out a grand on an lpg conversion (cos i do like me petrol t3s). thats a lot of money invested in and engine that is usually past its prime and running on good will, patience and luck.

the other advantage for me with the t4 is that when i get up in the morning to make me cocopops i wont be tiptoeing around all me tools on the floor. self employed and stay on site a lot - if i get another screw jammed into me foot or and blob of mastic between me toes

all tools in the back! yey!

still not the same tho is it...

its not a t3

I am one of the growing number of people who have converted fron T3 to
T4.
I had a few reservations when doing this but now i would not look back!
I know what you meen about people not waving and all that but who
cares if that happens?
All yu have to do is look at the number of vans that were in the T4 fourm
camping... well over 100 vans.

yeah youre right syncspares its a 1.9 td

she is tidy ive just had a good look round. fsh with v low miles.

i'm mulling it over till monday when i'll ring to let them know either way.

its just the number of vws i have to find space for thats holding me back a bit.

so far:

j reg golf cabriolet (running, always wit' top down despite lack of sun - and as seen on here a couple of times)

d reg golf cabriolet (not on the road and soon to be weighed in)

x reg golf gti (restoring/customising {cos it aint campain i dont feel guilty pimpin it})

c reg t3 camper (formally panel van - and as seen on here - yes the one with the portholes - no i'm not spraying feckin yellow before anyone else asks!!!)

e reg t3 panel (in storage this winter until i get the time to turn her into a camper)

then of course the t4 which i'm 90% swaying toward ownership of.

still at least its got the right badge on the front

Do what I did!! buy a T4 get a lowering kit from Baxter ...He should then give you a free Brickwerks sticker...if he got some more printed after I took the last one!!.Shov it in yer window....then when you next stop you may be recognised as being a T3/T4 nut!!!!only by those that have heard of the site though!!
Yea! What ever....!?
