Dear friends,
I need your Help in a technical problem. I am not familiar with engines and i am a student in London. Yesterday i bought from Germany a Gipsy for 4.000 (1.6 turbo diesel with 96.000 miles). Perfect ride and everything ok and i came back in UK (400miles). But this morning when i tried to turn on the engine the van started screaming (beep beep) and the oil indicator was red! So i opened the engine compartment under the furniture and I found what you see in the pictures. (that was ok before i buy it). I Found an oil leak from the intake hose that is not visible in the pictures because its underneath the rubber pipe you see. A Closer look of the problem. I need help in order to find this replacement part for the rubber pipe! If anybody knows any website or shop in UK where i can buy this from please let me know. I bought the van to move with my fiancé all of our 2 years MSc student life and household from England back to our home country (Greece). We have not a lot money left after the journey in Germany and we need to travel back before the 15th of June. I am planning to change it on my own if I find the part and the code. (is that difficult?) What else do i need to check before i start for the long journey? What tools and spare will i need?? clutch and gearbox are new, the german seller gave me the receipts, fresh MOT but no engine service etc. I am the president and founder of the VW Beetle club in Northern Greece. We are organizing an Event 6-8 July in Pilion, Camping Choreyto - Greece www.beetle-club.com. You are all welcome to come with all expenses paid by our sponsors! If you would like to participate p.m me. Please help if you can because we need to move out from our flat the 15th of June (landlord 2 months notice). Edited by petros |

if thats the gipsy the oettinger one advertised on mobile with a microwave grafted into the cupboard over the sink, we looked at it and the engine was about f***ked smoking like ivor the engine ,youll probably find theres no oil in your engine you, thats why your buzzer is on you should not have oil leaking from the intercooler

It is an oettinger but advertided on autoscout though (maybe on mobile as well). there is no microwave in it ,only a jvc cd player, but the cupboard missing over the gas hobs (right) makes me feel bit worried! Have you been in Cologne - Germany and looked at its engine? I removed the hoses and I am trying to find new ones. There was no oil in the engine as you said. It was on the min sign, not lower and before reaching there the van travelled over 580 klm with an average speed of 70klm/hour on autobahn. Any advice to make it all the way to Greece? I already booked road assistance but I would really like to travel with it. Thank you for your answer Edited by petros |

sounds like turbo seals to me... i had this on a t4 recently... does it carry on reving after you have taken your foot off the pedal?.... if it does thats the turbo sucking the oil out of the engine!!!
