Some of your who have been around here for a while will remember this thread.

Well, eight years have passed and the time has come to part with the one and only original Chappy wagon.

She's done sterling service over the years, during which time Hazza has turned 10 (going on eighteen), we produced another offspring (Ems) who's now 4, we bought, then sold a Karmann Colorado, and finally we bought a Florida - which some of you will have seen here.

The van has been in the care, and use, of my bro in law (Sponge), for the last five years or so, and has had continuous use throughout and never let him down - ever. Cool

But he finally got round to buying a van (LT2 - LT28 SWB) which we spent the last 9 months converting, and it's now finished.

So we come to a familiar story - the Chappy fleet is too big; so our first, the original, the Chappy Wagon will be up for sale.

I dropped her off to the garage today to have a thorough review, a tidy up and a service.

So watch this space - she'll be up for sale soon Cry

Feels like chopping a limb off! *sniff*....just need some emotional support like Ermm

Just about the same age that Emmy is now!

And now look at him! Can't get him out of the house unless he's got his skinny jeans, converse and Joules on!

Tried to read the plate, is that a UIJ plate from NI?

Like loosing a member of family. I find it hard to retire wagons from the fleet as I have driven them all at some stage.

So, I finally got my shit together and got her ready to sell.

Here's a few pics to give an idea of what she's all about.

Basically, she's an '84 T3, 1.9TD (AAZ - excellent motor, and bone dry), mated to an Aidan Talbot rebuilt AAP gearbox, so it cruises beautifully.

Extensive mechanical work done whilst in my care for the last 8 or so years:

All wheel bearings
Calipers and pistons
Master cylinder and booster
Electric power steering
Rebuilt drive shafts and joints
Lowered on AVO/VW springs for a sensible ride height
Bilstein dampers
New disks and drums
Stud conversion front and back
Braided hoses

Lots of other stuff that I can't remember right now!, but I'll do a run down of the whole lot in the next couple of days.  It will come with a stack of paperwork, and bill for £1000's:

Standard spec.  As it was going on a JX originally, then onto an AAZ with a a rover boost pin, I didn't see the needs for any upgrading for oiling etc

Cool, I'm running a AAP at the moment on a 1Z but have the bits to go to a AFN so thinking of tweaking the gearing a touch when it's rebuilt

She's gone! 😢😥😥😥

Worked out that we'd had her for 10 years all told, and she': left today to start a new life with her new owner.

Long live Connie the camper, long live Connie #1 😎
