can feel my clutch starting to slip. so i'll have to replace the plate,however here's a thought, i want to do a engine up grade from a 16jx to a 1.9 diesel later, probley it'll be a tdi, has anyone fitted the bigger clutch plate you need to a 16jx and ran it? (remember its just a thought) |

From memory, the flywheel limits the size of the clutch.
If you want to go up in size, it'll mean changing the lot. TBH, unless you're running silly boost, a chargecooler, oil cooler and are approacing 100bhp... you're unlikely to need a stronger clutch than stock. The standard unit is usually more than capable for the JX in all but the most extreme applications. MG |

As the man says the flywheel will be the limiting factor and is the correct size and has the drillings for a JX clutch only. Normally the only way of fitting a clutch capable of coping significant power increases within the diameter of a standard flywheel would be to fit a paddle clutch, but this is generally a Motorsport application. |
