hi i have recently purchased a vw lt 35 on 05 plate i am having problems with the brakes all new pads& shoes all round adjusted up brakes bled system but pedal hits the floor mega spongy feel noticed diff lock light is staying on in dash does this have anything to do with it anybody got any ideas as i'm totally lost any help would be grateful..

Don't know about the light but spongy brakes is usually down to air.
First thing is to check the master cylinder reservoir, get someone to repeatedly press the brake pedal whilst you watch for bubbles. If you don't see any good, cos if there are no leaks its probably trapped air. Question though, when you were bleeding the brakes did the fluid level ever get low. If so may be the cause of your problems, especially if the brakes were fine before you started bleeding them. If this is the case, its easily done and the solution is to start bleeding the rear first, not forgetting the brake compensator valve (just follow the pipes). There's a recent post about this if you have any problems. |
