mot failure, has some decent bits on it, twin head light grill, big bumpers (not genuine), spoiler, big mirrors, 5 year old 2.1 dj engine from vw  main dealer, 5 speed box, sa lower grill, rev counter clocks, pas, tow bar, electric saab teather seats, heated rear screen with wash wipe, etc

its been stored for the last 12 months and needs mot, cost approx £1000 + 2 tyres, ball joint, exhaust, welding and brakes

the body work is a bit scabby in places

cant afford to fix

so, do i sell as mot failure of break and sell in parts?
pic of van a few years back

advice needed

thanks

Sod selling it! nice looking van that, can you not keep it under wraps and do it up gradually as and when you can afford it? failing that.... What jason k said

not really up to speed with the prices on second hand parts,  should i stick them on ebay or sell private?

how much more would i make selling in bits compared to selling the van as mot failure?

Im up to £1500 profit selling bits from a pretty shitty panel van that I paid £850 for, it aint quick but you've got some nice high price bits on there, or buy a new lower spec van and swap your gucci bits onto it.

get a 2nd hand gearbox & drop it in it, not hard to do, even a novice could do it in a weekend with some machine mart spline drive bits & taking you time, then its a driver

whats the MOT fails, most stuff can be fixed cheap as chips

the van drives but the gearbox in it is borrowed from a mate, my gear box needs repairing so i wll give him back his gear box and let the van go with my gear box

the off side sill needs welding and both steps

i want to sell the van "as is" as i would like to see it on the road

i will give it a week and then break, sell the parts and scrap whats left

seem a shame to scrap when some one could make a nice van out of it

the van is in newquay cornwall

Is it parked on the front of Martins garage as I drove past earlier and though how that van is similar to the one on the Brick Yard? Cornish F reg and all.

surely someone down there can do the welding for cheap, the panels needed are'nt going to cost the earth, & a good spare box can be got down there for sure!

get it done up MOT'd for run to the sun then sell it on then........JD

sounds possibly too got to break!

i think 2k is a lil steap for the van as is so breaking the van is possibly the only route

its do it or die i spose

i think ia little old fashioned self application is needed or spend a lil £ to get what it owes you or a lil profit back in the old backburner
