Apologies for double posting, not sure which forum to post on...

Hi everyone. My first post about my first van. It's 87 Westy Vanagon, 1.9td conversion from petrol.
I'll be brief as possible:
Changed belts recently and posted photos of engine bay when I needed advice. Have been told that the oil breather has been capped off and this could cause issues. Have read a bit and found this may be the case (pressure build up). It may also explain my very slight oil leak?
I am in the dark with diesels and this is my first van. Can anyone help by advising: is this an issue? Can I resolve it? How do I resolve it? Could it explain slight oil leak?
Thank you in advance if you can help.
Many thanks
Dominic

It's never good practice to block off the breather from the crankcase or rocker cover.
It's all rust in the end....

Many thanks. I think I need to reinstate crank ventilation with a catch can!
